{"id":7698,"date":"2026-02-17T02:37:55","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T00:37:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/icsanaas.com.ua\/en\/?page_id=7698"},"modified":"2026-02-17T02:45:56","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T00:45:56","slug":"projects","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/icsanaas.com.ua\/en\/projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"chakra-heading css-1i6rxa8\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/safe-bs2bks.vercel.app\/\">Baltic Solutions to the Black Sea<\/a><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Implementation of proven Baltic approaches to the management of sea-dumped munitions and enhancement of environmental security in the Black Sea, with a particular focus on marine protected areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The goal of the SAFE-BS2BKS project is to transfer and implement the most effective and safe techniques used in the Baltic Sea for managing underwater munitions in the Black Sea region, with a strong focus on environmental security and the sustainability of marine ecosystems, especially in protected areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The project leader H9 (the EU and the Contracting Parties to HELCOM that are also Member States of the EU) will leverage its macro-regional network to foster discussions and organize key stakeholder dialogue and workshops. This will provide a substantial input for HELCOM BSAP action S34 while ensuring cross-sectoral multidisciplinary outreach and knowledge transfer to the Black Sea region and Ukraine in particular.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Activities will apply proven Baltic methods for assessing and mitigating hazards from submerged munitions, integrating them into marine monitoring and climate adaptation strategies. Special care will be taken in environmentally protected and sensitive marine areas where sea-dumped munitions can harm biodiversity and ecosystem integrity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Black Sea stakeholders will gain essential expertise through this exchange of knowledge and training. The project will develop an Action Plan with recommendations and an outline of future actions for the safe management of unexploded ordnances in the Black Sea, ensuring structured and coordinated marine environmental protection and risk management.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/icsanaas.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Proposal-Newsletter_2-eng-1.pdf\"><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>OpenEAT<\/strong><strong>: A Year of Innovation, Knowledge, European Cooperation <\/strong><strong>and Taste!<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The first year of the <strong>OPEN EAT project<\/strong><strong>&nbsp; <\/strong><em>(2024-1-RO01-KA220-VET-000249064)<\/em> \u2014 <em>\u201cI eat to live or I live to eat\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;\u2013 flew by like an exciting scientific and practical marathon, filled with discoveries, learning, and international cooperation!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Together with European partners and with the active involvement of researchers from the <strong>Institute of Climate-<\/strong><strong>S<\/strong><strong>mart<\/strong><strong> Agriculture of NAAS<\/strong>, the project team combined scientific research, practical skills, and the expertise of leading specialists from different countries to create resources that truly support professionals in the agri-food sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The project team developed a <strong>training <\/strong><strong>programme<\/strong><strong> for professionals<\/strong> that integrates up-to-date knowledge on cereal contamination and risk mitigation methods with practical case studies and interactive modules.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">During this period, the team created a comprehensive training curriculum that combines scientific insights with hands-on skills and prepared <strong>two practical guides<\/strong>, which have become reliable \u201cmaps\u201d for preventing food contamination and controlling product quality. These guides support professionals in the agri-food sector in identifying and managing grain contamination. A <strong>third guide is currently in its final stage<\/strong> and will soon expand our collection of professional tools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This year was a time of inspiration, collaboration, and tangible results. We laid a solid foundation for training activities and future learning events in the second year of project implementation, where professionals will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
