OpenEAT: A Year of Innovation, Knowledge, European Cooperation and Taste!
The first year of the OPEN EAT project (2024-1-RO01-KA220-VET-000249064) — “I eat to live or I live to eat” – flew by like an exciting scientific and practical marathon, filled with discoveries, learning, and international cooperation!
Together with European partners and with the active involvement of researchers from the Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture of NAAS, the project team combined scientific research, practical skills, and the expertise of leading specialists from different countries to create resources that truly support professionals in the agri-food sector.
The project team developed a training programme for professionals that integrates up-to-date knowledge on cereal contamination and risk mitigation methods with practical case studies and interactive modules.
During this period, the team created a comprehensive training curriculum that combines scientific insights with hands-on skills and prepared two practical guides, which have become reliable “maps” for preventing food contamination and controlling product quality. These guides support professionals in the agri-food sector in identifying and managing grain contamination. A third guide is currently in its final stage and will soon expand our collection of professional tools.
This year was a time of inspiration, collaboration, and tangible results. We laid a solid foundation for training activities and future learning events in the second year of project implementation, where professionals will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice. Together with our European partners, we are shaping food safety standards, strengthening professional competences, and making the grain sector more resilient and reliable.
We are only at the beginning – new courses, workshops, and discoveries in the field of safe and sustainable food are still ahead!
Open EAT is a project that proves science and practice go hand in hand, and that international cooperation opens new horizons of knowledge and opportunities in the field of safe and sustainable food systems.
